Judge blocks Trump TikTok ban following legal challenge

Judge Wendy Beetlestone said the risk presented by the government wasn't enough to outweigh public interest in halting the move.

What you need to know

• A judge has issued a preliminary ruling blocking President Trump's plan to ban TikTok in the U.S.
• It comes after the administration was sued by three TikTok creators.
• A judge said the U.S. government had phrased any potential security risk in the hypothetical, and that it was clear the ban would cause irreparable harm.

A U.S. federal judge has ruled in favor of blocking President Trump's proposed ban on TikTok in the U.S.

As Variety reports:

A federal judge has preliminarily blocked the Trump administration's ban on TikTok, which has been scheduled to take effect Nov. 12.

The case was brought by three TikTok creators, who argued that President Trump's executive order directing a complete U.S. ban on the Chinese-owned short-form video app infringed their First Amendment rights to free expression. The White House has'claimed TikTok, because of its ties to China, represents a national security threat.

As the report notes, Judge Wendy Beetlestone ruled that the plaintiffs had demonstrated "a clear likelihood of irreparable harm", and that furthermore, the government's argument that the app posed a national security threat was "phrased in the hypothetical" and that the risk presented did not outweigh the public interest in stopping the move.

The proposed ban has been met by several legal challenges, and at least one judge has already ruled to block the move on the grounds the ban "likely exceeded" the lawful bounds of the President's power under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. That decision is being appealed.

This particular suit was brought by three TikTok creators, Douglas Marland, Cosette Rinab, and Alec Chambers, according to the report:

[The three] filed suit against Trump and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on Sept. 18. They argued that because of the Nov. 12 ban, they would suffer irreparable harm based on the deprivation of their First Amendment rights.

TikTok's temporary CEO Vanessa Papas said the company was "deeply moved by the outpouring of support from our creators," and the lead attorney for the plaintiffs said they were "pleased" the judge had stopped the ban.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Dereck Chisora live stream: How to watch online

Two heavyweight fighters looking to move into contention for a shot at the division's upper echelon get in the ring on Saturday in London. Read on for your full guide to watching an Oleksandr Usyk vs Dereck Chisora live stream.

This Halloween heavyweight clash marks the first real heavyweight test of the much-lauded Usyk.

Tonight's showdown in London will be only the second appearance at this weight for the Ukranian, having moved up from cruiserweight.

Usyk was a former undisputed champion at cruiserweight, and dominated that division on his way to clocking up a formidable record of 17-0 and 13KOs.

While he was impressive enough in his heavyweight debut, battering Chazz Witherspoon in a seventh-round stoppage that saw him land 139 of the 347 punches he threw, Usyk has not been in the ring for a full 12 months since that win.

Facing him tonight is a much more experienced and unpredictable fighter in the form of Britain's Dereck Chisora

The 36-year-old Zimbabwean-born brawler looked to be on the brink of retirement following his second career defeat to fellow-Brit Dillian Whyte back in December 2018, but Chisora has fought his way back as a top-level contender by impressively winning three consecutive bouts.

Read on to find out how to watch the Oleksandr Usyk vs Dereck Chisora no matter where you are in the world.

How to watch Six Nations 2020 Super Saturday live stream

A frantic final weekend of action in the Six Nations is in store for rugby fans as Ireland, England and France go into their fixtures all in with a chance of winning this year's tournament. Read on for our full guide to getting reliable Super Saturday live streams and watch the rugby action online from anywhere in the world.

What could be potentially the most gripping final day in the history of the Six Nations kicks off in Llanelli, where home side Wales take on Scotland in the first game of the day.

With the hosts currently in fifth in the table, and the visitors one place above, the game is something of a dead rubber with neither team challenging for the title.

Nevertheless the Scots will be motivated to end a shocking 18-year winless run on Welsh turf. Home side hero Alun Wyn Jones meanwhile will make history by making his 149th International appearance on Saturday, surpassing former All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw's Test record.

The day's second game sees England looking to register a big bonus-point victory against perennial Six Nations strugglers Italy in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico.

Currently sitting in second in the table, Eddie Jones' side will be confident of clocking up a high-scoring victory against a home side that is on a wretched 26-match losing run in the championship. Should that come to pass, England will still nevertheless be reliant on the right result in the day's final game for them to clinch their third title in five years.

The only side with their destiny in their own hands is table-topping Ireland. The Boys In Green head to Paris for Saturday's final game in the knowledge that a bonus-point win against France will see skipper Johnny Sexton get his hands on the trophy. Nevertheless the home side are currently in third and could themselves take the championship with a big win, earning them the title for the first time since 2010.

Read on for full details on how to get Six Nations 2020 live streams of all of the final weekend's three games no matter where you are in the world with our guide below.

Australia vs New Zealand live stream: How to watch Tri Nations Series rugby

It's a huge weekend of rugby action, with the conclusion of the Six Nations in Europe, and this clash between old foes Australia and New Zealand, which marks the opening game of the Tri Nations.

Somewhat confusingly, thanks to the COVID-19 disrupted season, this match also serves as the opening match of the 2020 Rugby Championship as well as the third of four Bledisloe Cup matches between these two sides this year.

After two sides played out a 16-16 draw in Wellington followed by a 27-7 defeat at Eden Park, only a win will do for the Wallabies here if they are to keep their hopes alive of lifting the Bledisloe Cup for the first time since 2002.

The Wallabies' hopes of earning a victory have taken a serious knock following confirmation of an injury to key fly-half James O'Connor.

O'Connor's absence means Noah Lolesio will now make his debut for the home side at number ten alongside Brumbies teammate Irae Simone, who will also be earning his first cap, wearing the number 12 shirt.

The All Blacks meanwhile have only one significant change to their line-up with Hoskins Sotutu set to make his debut at number eight in place of Ardie Savea who is on paternity leave.

How to unblock websites and banned pages in 2020

One of the most annoying things when using the internet is coming across websites and webpages that are blocked or restricted. But sadly, this happens all the time.

There are a number of reasons why certain websites and webpages could be subject to blocks or restrictions. Firstly, they may be unavailable in your country or region as a result of geographical restrictions. Streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu are often affected by these.

However, websites and webpages aren't just blocked or restricted based on where people live. Schools, businesses, and many other organizations impose blocks and restrictions on websites and online content that they deem to be inappropriate.

While internet blocks and restrictions are frustrating, it's possible to get around them by installing a virtual private network. This is an online tool that'll allow you to connect to international servers in order to circumvent geo-restrictions and access blocked websites. In this article, we explain the steps you need to take to unblock websites and banned webpages.

Unblocking websites and banned webpages

Before you can unblock websites and webpages, you'll need to sign up for a VPN service that's up to the task. The best services for this provide large global server networks, access to a range of blocked websites, easy-to-use apps for different devices and more.

You shouldn't find it too difficult to find a suitable VPN, as there are many excellent providers available. We've already ranked the best VPN services, which include ExpressVPN, Surfshark, NordVPN, IPVanish, and PIA VPN. All of these services offer great features, performance, apps, and value.

Once you've chosen a provider, here are the next steps you'll need to take in order to unblock websites and webpages:

1. Choose and sign up for a subscription option. Most premium providers offer monthly and annual plans. Currently, one of the cheapest plans costs $2.50 per month and is offered by Surfshark.
2. After signing up for a subscription, you'll need to download the provider's app onto your device. There should be apps for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, and other popular platforms.
3. If you want to unblock a geo-restricted website or webpage, you'll need to find a country where it's available and connect to a server there. For anyone looking to access websites and webpages blocked in a school or workplace, any server should do the trick as it'll hide your IP address and tell blocked websites that you're in a different location.
4. When you've found and connected to a suitable server, just exit the VPN app and try loading the blocked website or webpage in your web browser. You should now be able to access it.

Now that you have downloaded and installed a VPN, you should find web browsing a much better experience than before. You won't have any issues when it comes to accessing websites and webpages that are affected by blocks and restrictions. But at the same time, you'll benefit from greater online privacy and security.
