HTC Vive Pre-Orders Begin on February 29

HTC’s virtual reality headset, the HTC Vive, will be available for pre-orders from 29th February 2016. This news comes from CEO Cher Wang, who confirmed this in an interview with The Telegraph on HTC’s refocus on virtual reality.

Verizon Updates Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.1.1

In a classic example of why not to buy devices from carriers, Verizon has finally started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on its network. This update brings Android for Work, upgrades to Samsung Knox and security and bug fixes to the Galaxy Note 4. Other carriers had already updated their devices by the end of November 2015.

Microsoft just published an application called Cellular Data in the Windows Store that potentially reveals upcoming plans for not only selling their own SIM cards, but also selling cellular data plans. The plan will be associated with your Microsoft account and it will only work on Windows 10 devices. This information seems to hint that Microsoft plans to become an MVNO like Google recently did.

The Fitbit Blaze is said to work on iOS, Android and Windows smartphones and one of the advertised features of the Fitbit Blaze is the ability to receive call and text message notifications. Fitbit tells us that Microsoft doesn’t provide a GATT server to developers, and they leverage this technology to offer this feature. So the two companies are working to provide an alternate solution.

Reuters recently reported on Google’s alleged plans to bring Google services back to China and this week Lenovo has reaffirmed exactly that. The President of Lenovo Mobile, Chen Xudong, was recently interviewed by Sina Technology and while he didn’t reveal a date in which these services will be back in China, Chen did mention that they was currently on track to come back.
