HTC has revealed its annual financial report for 2015, and the figures are not looking as rosy as an investor would expect. The company witnessed a revenue drop of over 35%, along with December 2015 accounting for a whooping 57% drop.
The Alcatel OneTouch Xess tablet joins the massive Android tablet club with Samsung and the company has been showing it off at CES this year. This 17.3″ tablet has a focus on media consumption that’s probably why they wanted to preload Amazon applications onto it. Users will find Amazon Shopping, Amazon Music and the Kindle preinstalled once they turn on and activate the tablet.
i-BLADES made the news a couple of weeks ago when they launched their Indiegogo campaign. They have created what they call the first “smartcase” which is a modular smartphone that lets users “stack” modules on the back of it. They currently offer battery and storage modules, but also have plans for “quality of life” sensors as well.
Funimation has just announced an upcoming streaming service called FunimationNow that they are preparing with Sony. The service will have complete catalogs of episodes from shows like “Dragon Ball Z,” “Attack on Titan,” “Fairy Tail,” “One Piece,” “Tokyo Ghoul”, “Space Dandy” and more. Intel had the RealSense smartphone available for pre-order, but those quickly sold out. So for now you can reserve your developer kit directly on the Intel website. This device comes with Google’s Project Tango technology and it can be yours for only $399. There’s no telling on how long Intel will be selling these dev kits though, so if you’re interested then act quick!
After security researchers discovered 13 malicious applications in the Play Store, Google has removed them for violating the ToS. It seems these applications, some of which had been downloaded over a million times, were caught downloading other malicious applications and leaving positive reviews. These applications were also caught requesting root access so they could install malicious code that would let them survive a factory reset.
