Blossoms blowing once again.
Sucker Punch Productions announced Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. This compilation includes Ghost of Tsushima, as well as several updates and a new expansion that continues Jin Sakai's story, taking place on Iki Island. It arrived on August 20, 2021 for PS4 and PS5. Depending on if you've already purchased the game or not, you'll have a few different options here.
Ghost of Tsushima was well-received critically and commercially, having sold over 6.5 million copies so far. As such, the PS5 version could end up being one of the best PS5 games available.
What is Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut?

What is the Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island expansion?
The Iki Island expansion takes players to the titular island. It becomes accessible once players reach Act 2 of the main story and follows Jin Sakai as he faces off against a new Mongol tribe led by a shaman named Ankhsar Khatun, or The Eagle.
Details remain thin but Sucker Punch Productions indicates that wounds, healing and trauma are major themes in this expansion. "We all suffer wounds, from the humblest farmer to the mightiest jito. Wounds from the past that we carry with us. And the thing about a wound is that you can't fight it, or stealth your way around it. Ghost weapons and samurai techniques won't help you. A wound can only be healed," the team explains.
Is Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PS4 upgrade free?
No, there is no free upgrade available for anyone who has already purchased the game or plans to purchase the Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PS4 version. Some other Sony first-party titles such as the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West from Guerrilla Games will be offering free PS4 to PS5 upgrades, but Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is not one of those games.
Do keep in mind that Ghost of Tsushima already received a free update, allowing anyone to play the backward compatible PS4 version on their PS5 at 60 FPS.
